Grant Programs

The Saskatchewan Arts Board has established adjudication procedures for all funding programs to ensure applications are assessed by qualified people.

Deadlines vary from program to program. Applications must be submitted or postmarked by the deadline date, as indicated in the program's application package.

Information submitted in grant applications is collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. View our full confidentiality statement here.

The Access Copyright Foundation provides grants to publishers, individual creators and publishing, writing and visual arts organizations.

Artists in Communities -- Arts After Hours responds to a need for increased out-of-school, community-based arts programming for children and youth throughout the province that is not connected to K-12 curriculum outcomes. NOTE: Projects formerly funded through Arts After Hours are now funded under Projects.

Artists in Communities -- Micro-Development allows organizations access to small amounts of money to: build relationships with potential artists, present “experimental” introductory projects and/or assess community needs, research, and/or develop plans for longer term projects or residencies.

Artists in Communities -- Projects allows eligible applicants to engage in the arts through performances, exhibitions or workshops led by a professional artist(s) or arts professional, and presented either as a series or as a single event and/or to work with an artist in teh research and development of an artistic residency.

Artists in Communities -- Residencies supports community organizations to host a six- to 12-month artist-in-residence project with a professional artist, working in any art form, that involves significant community engagement components. Participating artists take up residence in a community contribute to its cultural life and the community's continual engagement in the arts.

Artists in Schools offers schools a chance to enhance arts-related activities that are linked to educational outcomes through partnerships with professional artists.

The Culture on the Go program has been operated since 2008 with special funding from the Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sport. Unfortunately, that funding was eliminated in the 2017-18 provincial budget. Final report forms for previous grants are available on this page.

The Independent Artists Program supports Saskatchewan artists to pursue their creative work and careers by funding creative, professional development or research projects, and the production and/or presentation of artistic works.

Application closing dates: March 15 and October 1

Indigenous/Métis Art and Artists funds Indigenous artists and Traditional Knowledge Keepers/Elders in Saskatchewan to develop their artistic/cultural practices or share their art, skills and teachings.

Application closing date: April 15 and October 15

The Micro-Grant Program provides support to professional artists and arts organizations to achieve outcomes that respond to emergent needs; create access for first-time and underserved applicants; contribute to professional practice and development; and advance the professional arts and artistic practices in Saskatchewan. 

Application closing dates: The first day of each month 

Prince Edward Arts Scholarships provide funding to Saskatchewan students in their development as professional artists or arts administrators.

Application closing date: May 1

Provides funding to professional arts organizations and groups that contributes to arts programs and services, governance, management, administrative and operational functions.

Application closing date: January 15, 2019 

The Saskatchewan Foundation for the Arts Artists Awards Program provides financial assistance to Saskatchewan artists to create or develop new work or work in progress.

Closing date: November 15, 2018 December 4, 2018

The SaskFestivals program supports and encourages eligible festival organizations and series presenters in the province that have a positive impact on the arts in Saskatchewan.
